Beef Rendang

Rendang is believed to have originated from the Minangkabau region in West Sumatra, Indonesia. Now, it is commonly found in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. ​It is made with wide arrays of spices, it stands out for its distinct flavour which develops over a slow cooking process. It is eaten best with rice or ketupat (steamed pressed rice). Up your culinary skills and impress your loved ones with this easy yet yummy Beef Rendang using no other than WAY Beef Rendang Sauce. Serves: 2 - 4 (can use vector to represent, like two human) 

Total Time: 15 minutes (can use vector to represent, like cooking pot, or cutting board)

  • 3 tbsps. coconut oil
  • ½ kg beef chunks
  • 1 bottle Way Beef Rendang sauce
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 red chilis, sliced
  • 1 tsp. lime zest
  • Lime wedges for serving
  • Curry leaves for garnish

Cooking Method: 

  • Heat up the coconut oil. Sear beef chunks until nicely browned on all sides.
  • Add Way Beef Rendang sauce and coconut milk. Let simmer for 7-8 minutes, or until beef pieces are cooked through.
  • Top with chilis and lime zest. Serve with lime wedges, and garnish with curry leaves.
